Dark Waters of Hofn Bay Pano

The sun doesn't set for long in Iceland in the summer, and when it does it's not very dark. While this prevents seeing the Northern Lights, it highlights the moody and ominous landscape of the Icelandic countryside. This photo, shot from Hofn Bay off the the Golden Circle, shows patches of dirt emerging from the shallow bay with snowy mountains in the background. The thick clouds blot out whatever extra light would be possible, creating a very mystical scene.
