Northern Cardinal Photography | Winter Wildlife Print

Signed and numbered limited-edition fine art photography, available on fine art paper or metal.

Print & Size Guide

Fine Art Paper
Professionally printed on archival fine art paper. Smaller prints arrive matted in standard frame sizes:

4×6 print → 5×7 mat
5×7 print → 8×10 mat
8×10 or 8×12 print → 11×14 mat

Larger fine art paper prints are sold unmatted and are ready for your choice of framing.

Metal Prints
Printed directly on aluminum for a vibrant, contemporary presentation. Metal prints arrive ready to hang and appear to float away from the wall.

Choosing a Size
The size shown in the selector refers to the photograph itself, not the outside dimensions of the mat. Select a size and finish above to see the options available for this photograph.

Fine Art Paper: 4x6 prints are matted to 5x7, 5x7 prints to 8x10, and 8x10/8x12 prints to 11x14. Larger paper prints are unmatted. Metal prints arrive ready to hang.

About the Limited Edition

Every Spiral View Photography print is part of a signed and numbered limited edition. Edition sizes vary depending on the print size and format.

Each print is personally signed and individually numbered. The signature and edition number are placed on the mat or on the back of the print, never across the photograph itself, so the image remains completely unobstructed.

Once an edition sells out, no additional prints from that edition will be produced.

A male Northern Cardinal navigates a frozen Northern Virginia lake with the determined, slightly indignant energy of a bird that did not sign up for this weather but intends to make the most of it anyway. His plumage is an almost aggressive crimson against the pale blue-gray of the ice, the contrast so stark it looks deliberate, while scattered chestnut burs dot the frozen surface around him like tiny brown ornaments providing the only other warm tones in an otherwise wintry scene. The soft, snow-covered bank and weathered stump in the blurred background complete a composition that feels genuinely seasonal without resorting to any of the usual winter clichés.

This is the cardinal print for people who want something more interesting than a bird on a branch. The icy foreground, the foraging behavior, the chestnut burs, the low winter light catching every feather. It all adds up to a wildlife image with real narrative depth. Warm, striking, and instantly recognizable, it brings color and character to any wall in equal measure.
