Pennsylvania's Flagship University
Pennsylvania's Flagship University
The Pennsylvania State Flag flying over Old Main. Truly the most Pennsylvanian image that doesn’t involve scrapple.
The Pennsylvania state flag billows in full, wind-caught glory above Old Main, its deep cobalt silk snapping against a sky of brilliant summer blue while the building's iconic clock tower rises centered and composed directly beneath it, the whole arrangement feeling less like coincidence and more like someone planned it centuries in advance. The ornate state coat of arms — horses, eagle, and keystone shield — stands out in vivid gold and crimson against the flag's rich field, while the sandstone columns and copper-green roofline of Old Main below anchor the composition with the kind of quiet institutional permanence that only 150 years of history can produce. Puffy white clouds drift through the background with zero awareness of how perfectly they are behaving.
For Penn Staters this is a deeply satisfying layering of state and university pride in one vertical frame, but it works equally well as a celebration of Pennsylvania heritage on its own terms. Clean, graphic, and full of sky, it suits a tall narrow wall beautifully and brings a distinctly blue and gold energy to any space it inhabits.

About the Limited Edition
About the Limited Edition
Every Spiral View Photography print is part of a signed and numbered limited edition. Edition sizes vary depending on the print size and format.
Each print is personally signed and individually numbered. The signature and edition number are placed on the mat or on the back of the print, never across the photograph itself, so the image remains completely unobstructed.
Once an edition sells out, no additional prints from that edition will be produced.
