Ordering & Prints

Are your prints signed and numbered?

Yes. Every print is part of a limited edition and is signed and numbered. For matted paper prints, the signature and edition number are placed on the mat. For unmatted paper prints and metal prints, they are placed on the back so they never interfere with the image itself.

What sizes are available?

Available sizes vary by photograph and aspect ratio. Fine art paper prints up to 8x10 or 8x12 are matted to a standard frame size: 4x6 prints are matted to 5x7, 5x7 prints to 8x10, and 8x10 or 8x12 prints to 11x14. Larger paper prints are sold unmatted.

What is the difference between Fine Art Paper and Metal?

Fine Art Paper prints are produced on professional photographic or fine art papers selected to suit the individual image. Depending on the photograph, we may use matte or luster papers from manufacturers such as Canon, Epson, and Hahnemühle. Metal prints are produced on aluminum with a float frame and arrive ready to hang.

Can I order a size or image that is not listed on the website?

Usually. If you saw an image on Instagram, Facebook, in our gallery, or at an art show that is not currently listed online, contact us and we can check whether it is available. We can also sometimes produce custom sizes or formats depending on the photograph.

Do you sell digital files or digital downloads?

No. We do not sell digital image files or downloadable versions of our photographs.

Can you customize an image?

Sometimes. We have worked with customers on custom edits for specific spaces and projects. Contact us with what you have in mind and we can let you know what is possible.

Shipping & Returns

How long does shipping take?

Most orders are delivered within about two weeks. Larger prints, metal prints, and custom orders may take longer because they are produced individually. If you need an order by a particular date, contact us before ordering and we can let you know whether the timing is realistic.

How are prints packaged?

Prints are carefully packaged to protect them during shipping. Packaging varies by size and material so that the artwork arrives safely and is protected in transit.

What happens if my order arrives damaged?

Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and packaging. We will work with you to replace or otherwise resolve a print that was damaged in transit.

What is your return policy?

Because our prints are produced individually, returns are generally limited to damaged or defective items. You can read the full return and cancellation policy on our Refund Policy page.

How long does it take for orders to ship?

Orders will be processed as soon as possible after receiving the order.
Delivery should typically be expected within two weeks. Larger or custom
orders may require more time. If time is a factor, please reach out to
us.

Do you sell digital prints?

We do not sell digital prints or image files​

Can you customize images?

In the past we have worked with customers to edit our photos for specific purposes and environments. Please contact us if interested in a custom

About the Photography

Why is it called Spiral View Photography? 

We have a habit of letting trips grow far beyond the original plan. If one destination is on the list, nearby places and stops along the way somehow get added too. Over time we started joking that we take the spiral view to destinations instead of the long way or the scenic route, and the name stuck.

What camera do you use?

We have photographed with Canon cameras for more than a decade and currently use a Canon EOS R5. Some older images in the collection were created with Canon Rebel-series cameras.

Are those colors real?

Usually. I photograph in RAW, which means every image requires some processing before it is finished. I try to keep the colors believable and true to the scene, while using light, weather, time of day, and careful editing to bring out what made the moment worth photographing in the first place.

What editing software do you use?

Most photographs are processed in Adobe Lightroom. Photoshop is used when more involved editing is needed, such as removing a distracting object or making a more complex adjustment.
